Target Field in Minneapolis

I have so many blogs that I forgot that this one exist. :p Anyway, today, I found an excuse to post here as I had the chance to watch the Twins play at the Target Field. Yes, it was my first time there. We were seated way up there (almost touching the sky)… and I found myself more enthralled with the view rather than the game that was going on… Oh well, the Twins won anyway.

This one was taken before the game started.

Frigid

It has been so frigid since Sunday night — it is sub-zero temperature for 3 days now and I think it will continue ’til March or April…

I know I shouldn’t complain because this is typical Minnesota and at least it isn’t as cold as Siberia. So with that, I resort to my usual daydreaming that it’s summer once again.

Oh how I wish I am running with my shorts on, or holding hands with JZ while walking (HHWW), or even biking on a hot summer afternoon! But nope, instead I am inside wearing leg warmers, sweaters and long pants. *Sigh*

Swoosh!

I am happy to share this image taken under the Franklin Ave. Bridge by the Mississippi River. The swoosh of light came from the barge passing by during this long exposure. This was taken last fall when JZ and I went for a night hike under this bridge.

Anyway, the months are flying by so quick. It is already mid-December but it feels like there are still so many things to do before the year ends.
Do something productive today.

Truly Cold

There were days when the biting cold didn’t faze me as I explore this city I call second-home. Here is an example of that — a shot of the Minneapolis Skyline from Main St. by the 3rd Ave. bridge on a cold but calm night…

However, shooting outdoors in December is proving to be so hard for me. It’s been a fact that I don’t like winter and the dropping temperature that comes along with it. You see what I am talking about?

There isn’t even a day when the temps will be above freezing. Brrrrr…

Truly, it is cold outside.

Minnesota’s State Capitol

Given my love for architecture and domes, let’s wander out of Minneapolis again and visit the neighboring city, St Paul.

The Minnesota State Capitol is located in Minnesota’s capital city, Saint Paul, and houses the Minnesota Senate, Minnesota House of Representatives, the Office of the Attorney General and the Office of the Governor. The building also includes a chamber for the Minnesota Supreme Court, although court activities usually take place in the neighboring Minnesota Judicial Center.

Basilica of St. Mary

I see the dome of this beautiful Basilica almost everyday when driving from the gym to home. It was such a lovely sight!

Recognized as one of the finest examples of Beaux Arts architecture in the country, the Basilica of Saint Mary was constructed between 1907 and 1915. It’s also the first Basilica in the United States, honored by Pope Pius XI in 1926.
